Dining Experiences at White Doe Inn
Cuisine is an essential part of the bed & breakfast experience. White Doe Inn is pleased to have Chef Carol setting the stage for us to proudly offer a relaxed, intimate, and romantic dining experience. Great care is given to serving only the freshest foods, garnished with edible herbs and flowers from the Inn’s own gardens. Weather permitting, you can enjoy communing with nature on our beautiful veranda.
White Doe Inn is pleased to provide outstanding beginning to your day with a delicious, four-course plated breakfast that will delight your palate and be please your eyes. Homemade cereal, artisan breads, and gourmet coffee and teas set the tone for breakfast. Fresh fruit starts the morning followed by Southern style grits, a delicious entrée and finally a surprise ending of one of our signature breakfast desserts. Gluten free and other special dietary options are offered with advance notice. Seating is 8:30-9:30 AM.

Guests returning to White Doe Inn after a day of fun-filled adventure on the Outer Banks will find delicious homemade desserts, a selection of famous teas and our delicious gourmet roasted coffee. During warm weather our special fruited iced tea is the beverage of choice. On colder blustery days our signature hot apple-cranberry cider or hot chocolate is the perfect treat. The wrap-around porches, veranda, and gardens beckon guests to slow down and enjoy the quiet breezes and easy conversation while recharging before an evening of fine dining or entertainment. When there is a chill in the air, guests can retire to the parlors and bedchambers to relax by a cozy fireplace.
Our Lite-Fare Menu is perfect for guests checking in late, planning a day trip to the beach, sailing on the beautiful waters of Shallowbag Bay, or returning from a day trip just wanting to relax with a light meal on the verandah, your balcony or taking advantage of one of our cozy fireplaces. Dining at the inn is available exclusively for our guests. Chef Carol has lovingly put together two dinner packages not to be missed; candlelight, music, fine china, linens and wine to complement the delicious fare. To assure availability, dinner reservations are required and recommended at the same time room reservations are made as seating is limited. Seating is 6:00-8:00 pm.
“Private Chef’s Dinner for Two” – A four-course dinner prepared exclusively for you and that significant other in your life. “Dining at the Inn” – A smaller three-course dinner prepared and served in the dining area or verandah by Chef Carol. Wine is not included but can be an add-on if desired. Verandah Bistro – Have a little extra time before dinner or after returning from dinner and you would like to enjoy a glass of wine or beer … we now have the bistro that opens directly out onto the Veranda. Or, when the weather is a little cooler, enjoy the fireplace in the bistro. The Bistro is a comfortable spot for guests to getaway to themselves, meet friends or work on the computer. Wine and beer is available at $8.00 a glass.
Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance and are available exclusively to overnight guests of The White Doe Inn.
