Outer Banks Bluegrass Festival – Roanoke Island NC

Are you ready to bring in the fall with some toe tapping, heart thumping, sweet music to the ears type of festival? We are and we want you to join us! The Outer Banks Bluegrass Island Festival is coming up Sept 25-28, 2014 and will take place at Roanoke Island Festival Park. It is not too late to clear off your calendar and make plans to be here with us for this fantastic event.

This is the third year for this event and this time around promises to knock your socks off…or at least have you up off your chair dancing. First of all, if you play an instrument or want to just listen to the best strut their stuff, you will have to check out Jam Village. Located in the parking lot of Bluegrass Island, the band Banjo Island will on hand to jam with anyone looking to play and a host of vendors will be milling around with a variety of musical products. Two award-winning bands, The Roys and Nu-Blu will be the special guest artists at the Bluegrass Breakfast on the Oceanfront. A fantastic breakfast with these musical greats right near the beach is a picture perfect way to start the day. Tickets to this are still available so grab yours fast!

Another anticipated part of the weekend will be Boomgrass, which is the signature fireworks show completely choreographed to bluegrass music—it’s a fireworks show like no other. Some of the artists in this year’s schedule include Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Dailey & Vincent, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, The Lonesome River Band, and The Steep Canyon Rangers.

Are you getting excited? This is going to be an amazing fall festival and a great reason to spend some time with us on the Outer Banks. The White Doe Inn is a fantastic bed and breakfast close to all of the action but tucked along the shores of Shallowbag Bay, which brings some peace and serenity as well.
